If your club is like most clubs, very little thought is given to boat straps. They live in a bin, and invariably are only a concern when you don’t have enough, or when they have failed. Straps are not the most exciting product in Hudson Boat Works’ lineup, but these inexpensive pieces of equipment are the only things keeping your large investment from taking flight while you’re hurtling down the highway (at legal speeds of course).
What better time than spring to take inventory of, and to assess the condition of the various straps in your bin. Apart from knowing that you have enough straps for your next trailering, it is a great time to check all your straps for signs of wear, and test them for strength. Trying to squeeze one more trip out of a questionable strap because it’s the only one left in the bin could lead to a regrettable experience.
We at Hudson Boat Works are happy to answer any of your strap questions, and to help you replace any of the straps that you feel are will no longer serve their original duty. You might even choose to re purpose those older straps as belts – which if they fail, would lead to less catastrophic end.
